American Idol Predictions: Who will be out in the top 10

Another week of American Idol, which means another week of predictions! I got it wrong last week but it was pretty darn close. Should have used my common sense that Lil Rounds will not be out so soon.

Let's start of first with the iTunes Review Ranking which I forgot to post earlier this week heh.

Idol fever is getting hotter with more ratings and reviews then last week. It seems like Adam Lambert is the undisputed number one ranked idol with 2173 ratings! This is 4 times more than second placed Danny Gokey. Kris Allen has joined the top 3 now knocking Megan Joy Corkey out. Anoop Desai's ranking has also improved due to his great performance last week. I'm sad to see Allison Iraheta and Lil Rounds dropping in the rankings. Alison was in the bottom 3 last week, scary....

Now for this week's predictions ...

Just realised that there are only 3 girls left in the competition lol. The guys are certainly stronger this season. 2 guys in the top 2 again this season?? Okay lets do the usual thing again. Splitting them up based on their performances.
The safe group (based on alphabetical order)

1) Adam Lambert - After last week's weird performance, this week he is definitely back! Best performance of the day from Adam. 110% going to stay in the competition. Even the iTunes ranking favors him. There is no stopping him!!

2) Allison Iraheta - Don't know why she was in the bottom 3 last week. This week I'm sure she won't be there after a great performance. Singing last would help her gain extra votes.

3) Anoop Desai - Getting better every week this noop dog. Wooooo huuu huuuuu baby baby ...

4) Danny Gokey - Maintained his high standards today, like Adam, he is super safe.

5) Kris Allen - Definitely deserves the spot in the itunes top 3. Good looking and great voice, defnitely will have lots of female votes. I wonder if his wife will be jealous heh

6) Lil Rounds - Despite what the judges say, I thought her performance was great today. I dare not put her in the danger zone like I did last week. She is last in the iTunes ranking, but common sense tells me she won't be the last in terms of getting votes. I have learnt my lesson!

7) Matt Giraud - Another solid performace and like most of the guys, getting better every week! Second best performace of the day?
The In Danger Group

1) Megan Joy Corkrey - No more sick excuses for her this week.

2) Michael Sarver - Didn't like his performace this week and most of the week. He was sick but Megan already played the sick card last week, so I'm not sure if it will work this week.

3) Scott Macintyre - My favorite song (You can't hurry love) of the week, but I didn't like his performance. His attempt to get some votes for his pink pants might save him though heh.

Michael and Scott are very close in the rankings so it will be tough. But since Michael is lower than Scott in the rankings, I say he will be out this week! Will I be correct this week, or will I be wrong 2 weeks in a row for the first time.

Final Verdict: Michael Sarver to go back to home sweet home.

(I have already pre-ordered Adam's performance on iTunes!)

Warning: Do not drink alcohol if you flush after drinking!

I have only drank drinks containing alcohol around three 2 to 4 times in the past few years mainly because my face turns red after drinking and also because I don't go to pubs anymore due to the stupid smoking rules (save a lot of money he he). Now I know the reason why I flush and its a good thing I stopped drinking! (Actually even if I don't drink my I flush easily =( ... under the sun, eating spicy stuff, exercising etc etc)

Alcohol flush 'shows cancer risk'

People who get a flushed face when they drink alcohol should be particularly wary of gullet cancer, experts warn.

About 8% of the population - mostly people of East Asian descent - have an enzyme deficiency that causes their skin to redden when they drink alcohol.

National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism research found even moderate drinkers with this deficiency were more at risk of oesophageal cancer.

The report authors told PLoS Medicine such people may benefit from screening.

Alcohol-induced flush is predominantly down to an inherited deficiency in an enzyme called aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2).

Although this is widely known, few are aware of the accumulating evidence that ALDH2-deficient individuals are at much higher risk of oesophageal cancer from alcohol consumption, say the researchers.

Dr Philip Brooks and his team from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, working with Japanese colleagues, assessed how big the extra risk is.

They found individuals with one copy of the inactive gene causing ALDH2-deficiency were 6-10 times more likely to develop oesophageal cancer than individuals with the fully active ALDH2 enzyme who drank comparable amounts of alcohol.

They said if moderate or heavy drinking people with this deficiency were to become light drinkers instead, 53% of oesophageal cancers might be prevented among Japanese men.

They based their calculations on light consumption being fewer than 25 UK units of alcohol per week, moderate being fewer than 50 UK units and heavy being more than 50 UK units per week.

So if you also flush easily, you better stop drinking alcohol! Esophageal cancer is one of the deadliest cancers worldwide, with five-year survival rates of 15.6 percent in the United States, 12.3 percent in Europe, and 31.6 percent in Japan!! There are 540 million people like me in the world who flushes after drinking! Ban alcohol? He he, then its the end of the world for most people .... will you stop drinking??

(I think all the pub owners and alcoholic drink manufacturers must hate the doctors who did the research he he, smoking you already ban and now this?!?!?)

More nobody but choo madness

I want nobody nobody but choo clap clap...clap. Oh man. I know it's a little late but I'm addicted to the song Nobody by Wondergirls. I posted the mtv, one live performance and 2 gay performance yesterday and went on a Youtube "Nobody" marathon he he. I keep watching different performances of "Nobody" one after another. i also ended up buying the song and ringtone on iTunes ha ha.

(Oh ya on a side noted, I have bought the iTunes gift card I always wanted and have downloaded the American Idol app and Adam Lambert's satisfaction! More song donwloads in the future!!)

I think I have listened to the song for more then 50 times yesterday. I'm mad!! I think my favorite member of the group is Ahn Sohee, the second girl from the left in the pic above. I love it when she does the pacman action thingy at 0:45 of the video below (the performance I posted yesterday). Although sometimes she zao sia, I still like!

American Idol Predictions: Who will be out in the top 11

Lots of good performances this week on American Idol. It seems like some of the weaker contestants have stepped up. Even Micheal Sarver gave a good performance which might give him a chance to stay on for another week. He is lucky that this week is country music week. Some of the better ones like Adam Lambert and Lil Rounds were rather disappointing today. So what's my prediction this week? Who will be out?

As usual I will split the contestants into 2 groups.

The Safe Group (in alphabetical order)

1) Allison Iraheta - Another solid performance from her.
2) Anoop Desai - Best performance I've heard from him so far which could save him this week.
3) Danny Gokey - Good but not great. Getting more popular than ever based on the screams I heard.
4) Kris Allen - Again, best vocals from him so far. His adorable sexiness will keep him in the competition for a few more weeks at least.
5) Matt Giraud - You've guessed it, another best performance so far from a contestant. Glad that the judges love him this week. Best contestant this week.
6) Megan Joy Cockrey - She souded weird, but then its becasue she is sick. Her moves will keep her in the competition.
6) Michael Sarver - Country music saved him this week.
8) Scott Macintyre - Good performance, and his sales pitch will gain him some votes.

The In Danger Group

1) Adam Lambert - Like what Simon said, what the hell is that! He tried to be original, but it was a mess.
2) Alexis Grace - Another average performance from her this week.
3) Lil Rounds - Not a comfortable genre for her this week.

Based on the iTunes ranking I posted on Monday, this week Lil Rounds will be out! It's a risk to predict that one of the power singers will go home so early but I have to stick to my formula ha ha. So Lil Rounds will be "out"! Why the inverted commas? It's because the judges will definitely use the "Judges Save" this week if she goes out.

So final verdict: Lil Rounds gets the least votes and is saved by the judges!

2 out of 2 last week. Will I be right this week?

As expected Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey are your top 2 idols based on last week's performance. Kind of surprised Megan Joy Corkey is in the top 3 while Lil Rounds is number 9. I think people are getting to like Megan's dancing. Michael Sarver is in danger of going out this week if he doesn't give a brilliant performance.

Nil! Been doing projects most of the time this week. Projects due next Monday and then its exam time :( ...

Won't let projects and exams stop me from watching my fav tv shows though he he. Now its only tv and projects for me. No movies, no games .. Will watch Push after exams, hope its still on then. Dakota Fanning is all grown up now ... Wow.

American idol : My usual extremely accurate predictions

Wow, seems like the "Sean's itunes Review Theory" worked! Yesterday I predicted that Jorge Nunez and Jasmine Murray =( were going out and it happened! So far my record in predicting American idol this season is really good =) I wish I could have been that accurate in the stock market or horse racing! In case you want to read on how I managed to make this accurate prediction yesterday, refer here. Will my hot streak continue next week?

On the results show today, they also announced the twist they talked about. If I remembered correctly, the twist is that the judges can now save a contestant if they feel he or she deserves to stay on. However, they can only use it once in the whole competition and it must be used before the top 4 are chosen. The week they use it, there will be no one eliminated but the next week there will be 2! Hmmm, okay I think its quite a good move but you kinda know that out of the top 11, no matter what happens, they will only attempt to save either, Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey or Lil Rounds, depending on who gets the lowest votes first. We'll see ....

I was thinking of posting the "American Idol itunes Reviews Rankings" today, but I think I should wait till Monday to start posting the rankings. The reason for delaying is that people who are busy on weekdays might give some reviews on the weekends thus making Monday a more accurate indication on the popularity of the idols. If you have read my previous post, you will realize that these rankings play a significant role in my predictions.

American Idol Predictions: Who will be out in the top 13

Some performed brilliantly, some were disappointing ... so who will be out later today?

There is another twist today when Simon announced that there will be 2 contestants instead of 1 who will be out. That certainly made everyone more nervous than they already are! So now I can choose 2 out of 13 which makes my chances of getting one correct higher heh. In order to predict who will go out, I will split the top 13 into 2 groups, the "Safe" ones and the "In danger" ones. Just in case you don't what the two terms mean (as if), let me explain. The "Safe" one are those whom I think will definitely come back next week. The "In Danger" ones are those who stand a high chance of going home today. So which of the contestants are in my "Safe" and "In Danger" groups?

The Safe Group (In alphabetical order)

1) Adam Lambert - With a reaction like that, how can he be out? I don't care if he is gay or not, he is really good and is definitely one of my favorites.

2) Allison Iraheta - Another solid performance from her. I like the going to the break arm wrestling thingy she and Kris Allen did, that alone will ensure a safe passage for the both of them heh.

3) Danny Gokey - He is back! Much better performance than his previous one. A little PR work is done by focusing on his family and friends instead of his wife. Having lots of kids in the clip is a good thing lol.

4) Kris Allen - Reason mentioned in Allison's part. Agreed with what Simon said that he mentioned his wife too early heh. I wonder how his wife felt when Simon said that! That will certainly break lots of girls' heart, but he should still get enough votes to go through with his adorable sexiness.

5) Lil Rounds - Same as Allison, another solid performance. She will definitely be in the top 4 at least.

6) Matt Giraud - Finally played his piano and gave a great performance.

7) Megan Joy - Her cute dance alone will get her enough votes to get through.

8) Scott Macintyre - Like Matt he was better with a piano. Will last a few more weeks I think.

The In Danger Group

1) Alexis Grace - Singing last can be a double edge sword. If you have performed badly everyone will remember not to vote for you.

2) Anoop Desai - Didn't like him then don't like him now.

3) Jasmine Murray - A shaky performance from the sweet looking girl.

4) Jorge Nunez -A boring performance which made me pick up my newspaper to read while he was singing.

5) Michael Sarver - He was lucky in the group stage, I don't think he will be that lucky now.

So how will I choose the 2 from the 5 in the "In Danger" group? I will base my choice on the number of itunes reviews they have! The more number of reviews should mean they have more supporters! If they are willing to write reviews for their songs this means they have noticed them and bothered to comment, which might lead to them voting.

So based on the itunes reviews the 2 contestants with the lowest number of reviews and I predict will go home are Jorge Nunez and sadly Jasmine Murray. I will be having another post on the "itunes reviews ranking list" soon. I wonder what twist will be announced later? Judges playing a part in who stays and who goes? So many twists it's turning into survivor!

Things I did this week

My group mates Donald, Gene, Maddie and Shawn came over to my place on Tuesday for some project discussion and then we had lots of Pizza and fried chicken (super sinful la). After eating was a little more project discussion and we had our Guitar Heroes session! As you can see in the picture, there are now 2 guitars. I spoiled Shawn's guitar after playing day and night for 2 days, so I went to buy him another one out of goodwill (GST credit money bye bye). Actually I was planning to buy one before I spoiled it so I did not think twice before buying him a new one he he. The spoiled guitar fortunately can still be used, but can only be strummed upwards. I will be keeping that guitar thank you. More guitar heroes for me even when Shawn takes the guitar back! Because of this, 4 of us can play together now! Donald was the lead singer, Shawn the drummer (who played till he had blisters), the girls and I rotated the guitars, one as the guitarist and the other the bassist. The set is still in my house due to Shawn's laziness in bringing it home lol.

I love project meetings, especially when it is at my house heh. And because I'm studying marketing (not go market and buy fish type of marketing ah), we have tons of projects! Missed the days in poly when lots of project meetings were held in my house. Kind of sad that I will not be doing school projects anymore after my next semester, which is my last ... =) =( (happy and sad). I doubt that projects at work will be done at my house lol. In the future, I will be posting random visuals I made for past projects I have done, to remind myself of the wonderful times we had doing projects. I love doing projects!

Since Sean left his Guitar Hero World Tour set at my house, I have been playing it quite a lot when I have the chance to. Usually when I'm alone I play the guitar, it is Guitar Hero after all. I actually played till I spoiled his guitar and ended buying a new guitar for him =( At least now I have my own spoiled guitar which can be only be strummed downwards lol, still very playable though.

Since I'm all Guitar Hero crazy at the moment, this week's random videos will feature Guitar Hero World Tour videos I found ......

So far I can only play the medium mode he he sorry for the noobness. I wish one day I can be like this guy here. Getting perfect in Expert mode!

I have finally managed to successfully change to a new template! This template is actually not my first choice though .... I realized that my html skills suck and struggled to successfully transfer everything to that template. It would look damn chio if I managed to use it properly but the new template I'm using now, my second choice ain't too shabby either. At least I think it looks much better than my previous one. American Idol: Wildcard Results

Great ... even when I guessed blindly I got 2 out of 3 correct! Actually it should be 2 out of 4 since they "decided" last minute that it would be the top 13 instead of the top 12. I thought they would choose the contestants based on their performance, but I think they went with who they liked. The performance was just for show. Although I like Jasmine Murray, I did not think she sang well but lucky for her she got through based on her personality and cuteness I think. Matt sang well and deserved the spot, when it was between him and Anoop, I was afraid he would be out but luckily they like Matt. Can't wait to hear him sing while playing the piano! I guess we will see more of Megan Joy Cockrey and her interesting dance too heh. I wonder whats the hype with Anoop, did not think he sang that well, I think it must have something to do with Slumdog Millionaire winning the Oscars. I thought Jesse Langseth would be a better pick to go through.

Tatiana performed great again but this time she switched to her irritating personality again which killed her chances of going through. Okay I admit, even I am getting irritated with her and am sort of relieved she is not through.

So now we have the top 13 instead of the top 12. Most of my favorites are still in the competition. Adam Lambert, Matt Giraud and Jasmine Murray do your best! I'm kind of sitting on the fence on Danny Gokey at the moment, have been influenced by the cynical people on some websites and forums saying how he makes use of his dead wife to gain votes. Didn't realize this till I read those stuff but I feel that it might be true. It might be unintentional, cause the death happened quite recently and he still misses her a lot. But if he shows or mentions her again in the top 13 without anyone asking, he will definitely be in my hate list. I'm going to add one person to my favorite and she is Allsion Iraheta. I don't know why, but these few days her performance last week has been playing in my head and I unintentionally start singing the song Alone lol. I'm so going to get an itunes gift card soon so that I can download their performance.

Next week, it will be though to predict since now I can only choose 1 out of 13. Its like horse racing, at first I could choose the placing (top 3) but now I can only choose the winning horse. The odds are definitely narrowed down here. Can't wait to see everyone perform next week!

American Idol : 2 out of 3 aint that bad plus Wildcard round predictions

My love for Kristen McNamara clouded my judgment in my top 3 predictions, but correctly predicting 2 out of 3 is not too bad heh. Seems like latino support is strong which means Jorge Nunez would probably last a few more rounds at least. Kind of disappointed that Kristen McNamara did not get through, I'm surprised that she didn't even make it to the wildcard round. I thought she was one of the better performer of group 3. I wonder why was Von Smith was chosen instead of Kristen McNamara, Ju'Not Joyner and Felicia Barton? Just becasue he reminded Simon of Clay Aiken doesn't mean he will the next Clay Aiken.

Anyway, here are the 8 contestants given a second chance to appear in the wildcard round.

I knew Jasmine, Matt and Tatiana would be in the wildcard round!

Since this time, the judges will make the decision instead of votes by viewers, I can't make predictions based on their performance. I will just make a blind guess based on my favorites who are in the wildcard round.

Jasmine Murray, Matt Giraud and Tatiana Nicole Del Toro (previously not my favorite, but I think she has a nice voice and if she repeats her group 1 performance, will be one of the stronger ones in the group) will go through!! Cry Tatiana, Cry!!

Lets see what happens later.

Bad habits die hard

My rather bad habit of changing templates has struck again! I'm going to change the template of my blog very soon. I have already decided on the template and I think its going to be much better than the current one ... can't wait to publish my blog with the new template! =) The change should happen within this week if everything goes well and I do not have extra stuff to do. Stay tuned!!

Hope this picture can make up for the lack of words in this post and the thought that the post might be an emo one, saying how I hate myself etc etc =)

American Idol : Hardest Group to Predict

Oh my god. Its really hard to predict which 3 contestants will go through to the next round. The only contestant who will go through is Lil Rounds. They sure like to position the favorites as the last singers. Group 1 Danny Gokey, group 2 Adam Lambert and now Lil Rounds. The last person who sings will surely get through if he or she gives a decent performance. Lil Rounds did not disappoint, so I'm 100% sure on this one. With a name like Lil Rounds, she definitely have a chance to be famous in the future.

Okay Lil Rounds is the only certain one. Who are the other 2 who will join her? Its so close between at least half of the group 3 contestants .... I think I need a little bit of luck to be able to predict it. Lets see ... we have ..

1) Jorge Nunez - who will have all the Spanish speaking people's support
2) Scott Macintyre - who might have a little sympathy votes (he did give a good performance though, so if he goes through, I think he deserves it)
3) Kendall Beard - who has the country music loving folks' support
4) Felicia Barton - who will get votes from people who likes a great comeback story hoping for a fairytale ending
5) Ju'Not Joyner - who based on performance, should be the one who goes through, but theres so quite a few great personalities in this group who might take his place

And last but not least

6) Kristen McNamara - One of my favorites and sang really well heh

Too bad Arianna Afsar's performance wasn't really good. Don't think she will get through this round or get to the wildcard round.

After 1 min of thinking ............. hmmmmm ..... I'm going to put my favorite, Kristen McNamara as the contestant who will go through based on having the next highest number of votes. Sorry a little bias here he he.

Okay the last one needs to be a guy. And that guy would be .......... drums rolling ......... Scott Macintyre! Why I think he will go through?? My decision app "Mr. Tap" told me heh. Could not decide to I assigned numbers 1, 2 and 3 to Jorge Nunez, Scott Macintyre and Ju'Not Joyner respectively and got this result.

Lol Scott Macintyre will get through according to Mr. Tap. My last 2 prediction were pretty accurate .... I wonder how many will I get correct this time.

My extremely accurate American Idol Predictions

My predictions are getting better and better! The week before I got 2 out of 3 correct, choosing Danny Gokey and Alexis Gracie to go through. Last week, I got 2.5 out of 3 correct!!

This were my predictions last week for the 3 who would be going through to the top 12.

Next highest vote - Megan Joy Corkey/Kris Allen

Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta got through easily and like what I predicted, Megan Joy Corkey and Kris Allen were paired together when announcing the results with Kris Allen going through. Wow, I'm getting good at this prediction thingy. The reason I gave myself 2.5 is because I should chosen only 3 contestants to go through but I chose 4. This week I will only choose 3 contestants. Who will go through, will I get 3 out of 3 this time??

This week there are 3 days of American Idol!! I think the third day is for the Wildcard round. Hope my favorites who didn't make it make it through the group stages get selected for the wildcard round.

He's Just Not That Into You - Not bad .. but why so little of my fav Drew Barrymore?? Ginnifer Goodwin is cute.

Marley and Me - Had to keep use my fingers to wipe off my tears during the show. Really sad show especially if you had a dog who just passed away.

Games

Guitar Heroes World Tour - Shawn brought the whole set (guitar, drum, mic) to my house to play! Can you believe that its my first time playing guitar heroes?!!? Really enjoyed playing it, considering weather to get my own set. Wayne is going to post unglam photos of our guitar heroes experience on facebook ... damn.

Street Fighter 4 - Bought it last week. Didn't get to play it much. Love the gameplay and graphics. The intro is very nice! Very Stylo sia. The song is corny but cool.
